The Approach
Super Bright LEDs aimed to better showcase the MiBoxer ecosystem and sought a more effective way to present its product information. While the system offered convenience, it lacked user-friendliness—the central hub was sold separately and did not provide an intuitive method for pairing with other components or identifying compatible products.
Starting Concept
The MiBoxer Hub enables wireless control of lighting through RF remotes, smartphones, and tablets. Compatible smart bulbs, commercial and landscape products connect directly to the hub, while LED strip lights require an additional MiBoxer controller or strip adapter(as displayed below). To simplify this setup, a clean and informative diagram system was introduced to more clearly outline required components and provide cross-links to related products. This diagram would exist below the description on the product page.
The diagram was designed to resemble the actual products closely enough to be easily recognizable, without distracting from other elements on the product page. The icons were also intended for use in user manuals and other documentation designed by a separate designer, who preferred simplified color palettes and varied stroke weights.
Final Concept
After new information was given from the distributor of the MiBoxer hub, system diagrams were reimagined to clearly distinguish between the "MiBoxer Remote Ecosystem" and the "Smart Ecosystem" in some instances, providing consumers with a more intuitive understanding of each. Broader call-to-actions were introduced to highlight required components and show where the current product fits within the overall system. Icons were redesigned with a simplified, modern aesthetic, and a "Shop All" button was added to encourage exploration across the full product range.
